Nature of the Mind

Some observations on how our minds work/faulty biases of the mind:

  • Almost all of the things we make a big deal of in our heads are wayyyyy less serious then when it actually happens in real life… If it even happens at all that is [99% of the time it’s our imagination]

  • We think people are thinking about us constantly because we’re the star of our own show, of course! However, they very rarely are

  • Our minds are limitless. There are literally unlimited perspectives & lenses through which we can see the world. Those pesky external circumstances that seem to determine whether we’ll be happy or not? A new perspective might be just what the doctor ordered.

  • Think of perspectives like lenses at a glasses store. You can flip through them until you find one that fits your situation perfectly!

  • Once you expand your awareness, it’s hard to go back to the more limited awareness you had before. It’s like knowledge…it’s pretty hard to unknow something you know to be true
